Leave no one behind (LNOB) is the central, transformative promise of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Universal Design is a way to work with design processes that improves quality by making accessibility for all people a main priority.
The Universal Design Playbook was created with the purpose of providing easy access to planning and facilitating universal design development work, whether it is short workshops or longer work sessions. That comes entirely down to what the user selects using the sorting functions on the page.
The Playbook contains a collection of methods that can be used in any design process. Each method contains useful information so the user can be certain that they are selecting the most appropriate method to fulfil their purpose. The methods also include tips for how to accommodate participants with diverse abilities to ensure that everyone feels included in a workshop setting no matter what they are capable of.
It even generates a full workshop plan for you, ready to print! All you need to do is to click the star on the methods you choose to include, go to the favorites list, where you can drag and drop the methods if you would like to edit the timeline, and press print.
Assistant Professor at DTU Skylab, Dagný Valgeirsdóttir, has been responsible for developing the playbook. She also collaborated with colleagues and students, especially from the DTU course 'Staging Co-Creation', of which she is course responsible. Development began in spring 2020.
