Applied AI Lunch Talk: Datasets and Smarter DNA

Learn how to navigate Public Datasets and how AI Designs Smarter DNA for the Future of Biotechnology

Applied AI Lunch Talk

Talk 1: Get Access to Public Datasets

A lack of suitable data often hinders AI projects in industry and academia. Learn how “Datavejviser.dk” and its metadata catalog provide access to Danish public sector data. Martin will explain how his team can help you navigate the database to find relevant datasets. The “Datavejviser.dk” team also welcomes user feedback on which public sector data would be most valuable to you.

Speaker Bio:

Martin Skovbjerg Jensen, Project Lead, Danish Data Portal (Datavejviser.dk)

Working at the Agency for Digital Government since 2017, Martin has been the project lead on Datavejviser.dk for the last few years. He and his colleagues work to make it easier to find, assess, and re-use data from the public sector. User feedback helps his team prioritize their efforts in terms of future datasets - so do reach out!

Talk 2: Using AI to Design Smarter DNA for the Future of Biotechnology

Technology and economic drivers of modern biotechnology include AI and automated DNA sequencing. With advanced genetic engineering methods like CRISPR, bioengineering has entered a new era focused on designing novel DNA, engineered genomes, and synthetic organisms rather than just modifying existing genes. Tailwind Biotech uses AI to overcome specific challenges in engineering enhanced protein production in host organisms.

 Speaker Bio:

Christopher Workman CSO and Co-founder of Tailwind Biotech

After 20 years of academic research in systems and synthetic biology, Chris transitioned to the startup world when he co-founded Tailwind Biotech. He led the Fungal Systems Biology group at DTU Bioengineering for much of his time at DTU, where he has applied computational and systems biology to problems in applied biotechnology.
