Make Folkemødet a place for All
Collaborate with Folkemødet on making Denmarks Democracy Festival inclusive to everyone, no matter their abilities.
Bring your solution to Folkemødet in June and test it in action.
Every year, more than 100.000 people meet in the island of Bornholm to discuss politics. society, culture, welfare, and much more. It takes place outdoors, on rocky surfaces, in crowded spaces, and it can be inaccessible to people with disabilities and impairments. Collaborate with Folkemødet on one of these challenges:
- Wayfinding – how to find your way around if it is difficult to read a map
- Alternative ways to participate if you cannot hear, see, speak, etc.
- Transport options around the festival for people with walking difficulties
- Ways to find peace in a hectic environment with many people, sounds, lights and stimuli
- Alternative ways to order food at food stalls instead of queuing
- Access to bars and street food stalls for people in wheelchairs, blind people, and people with impairments in general
- Alternatives to the usual food and drinks that can be difficult to hold and eat
- Tools to "translate" information on the website and app into an easily understood form
Or, create your own challenge that makes Folkemødet more inclusive.
