The Skylab Startup Programme is a three-stage program designed to help you transform your idea into a sustainable business. Through practical learning, one-on-one coaching, and personal development, you’ll shape your own startup journey at your own pace.

By joining, you and your team will gain structure, skills, and confidence to move from concept to company while developing key strengths in leadership, innovation, communication, and business development.

Duration: Up to 6 months (self-paced)

Stage 1 is your introduction to entrepreneurship. You’ll explore how to turn your idea into a viable business by engaging with potential users, testing your assumptions, and refining your concept, all with close support from the Skylab team.

How it works:

  • 1:1 Sparring Sessions: Monthly meetings with Skylab coaches or innovation partners to guide your progress.
  • Voluntary Basic Business Modules: Workshops on core startup topics such as customer discovery, business models, and pitching.
  • Flexible Workspace: Free access to Skylab’s open areas, café, and shared workspaces.
  • Access to Labs: Use Skylab’s labs and workshops to prototype and test your ideas.

Expected outcomes:
By the end of Stage 1, your team will have:

  • A validated business and product/service idea.
  • A committed co-founder team.
  • A draft business model with commercial potential.
  • A clear and concise pitch.
  • A milestone plan for the next 12+ months.

Duration: 6–12 months (self-paced)

Stage 2 is about building and validating your business. You’ll strengthen your business model, develop and test your product or service, and design a strategy for market entry and fundraising, all while engaging directly with customers and mentors.

How it works:

  • On-demand Coaching: Meet with Skylab Coaches or Innovation Partners as needed to stay on track.
  • Mentoring Program: Access experienced mentors to guide your development.
  • Advanced Business Modules: Deep-dive into topics such as finance, team development, IP protection, and project management.
  • Community Engagement: Join sector-based subcommunities for peer learning and collaboration.
  • Incubator Access: Apply for workspace in Skylab’s incubator and developer hall.

Expected outcomes:
By the end of Stage 2, your startup will have:

  • A scalable business model and tested MVP/PoC.
  • A defined go-to-market and funding strategy.
  • A registered company (CVR) or verified spinout process.
