Vissing Fonden
The Vissing Foundation provides development grants to early-stage startups within energy and climate. Through a strategic partnership with DTU Skylab, The Kitchen (AU), and KU Lighthouse (KU), we support innovative solutions aimed at reducing global dependence on fossil energy.
About Vissing Fonden
The Vissing Foundation targets Danish startups in the transition phase from idea or concept to the testing and realization of a solution. The support is primarily aimed at activities that contribute to the development, testing, and commercialization of new technologies.
To apply for funding from the Vissing Foundation through The Kitchen (AU), KU Lighthouse (KU), or DTU Skylab, you must have an active affiliation with one of these universities, either as a staff member, researcher, or student.
The foundation supports startups and spin-outs working with alternative and/or renewable energy sources, thereby contributing to making society less dependent on fossil fuels.
Support covers all stages of the process, including:

Development and supply of new energy solutions.

Storage technologies and infrastructure.

Carbon reduction (e.g., CO2) in both products and systems.
The scope is not limited to projects with a direct focus on energy and climate. We also support smart technological solutions that indirectly address major societal challenges by reducing our overall reliance on fossil fuels.
The Vissing Foundation supports a wide range of technological innovations, including but not limited to:

Integrated solutions for managing energy, climate, environment, and biodiversity.

Digital solutions for energy optimization within manufacturing, transport, and construction.

New forms of energy production, such as biofuels, Power-to-X (PtX), or carbon capture.

Energy storage in batteries and other advanced systems.

Energy efficiency improvements within both the commercial and residential sectors.
To be eligible for support from the Vissing Foundation, the company must meet the following criteria:

Be registered in Denmark.

Have a Danish company registration number (CVR).

Hold a Danish bank account.
The foundation does not provide funding for the following:

Salaries for founders or owners. However, grants may be provided for third-party services contributing to development or testing, such as app development, technical testing, structural engineering, or laboratory work.

Travel expenses. An exception may be made for travel directly related to commercialization purposes.

Costs for courses and congresses.

Study tours.
-
Publication costs.
-
Administrative overhead.
