Applied AI Lunch Talks is an initiative designed to share insights on how AI is leveraged across various organizations to address significant challenges and create value in both business and society. Our guest speakers, who come from startups, SMEs, and large corporations, bring hands-on experience and practical knowledge about applying AI to solve complex problems within their organizations.

Ola Wassvik, CCO & Co-Founder at Lightbringer
Ola has spent two decades in deep tech, building companies where the science is unproven and the timelines are long. He has written a book on the experience, A Game of Deep Tech: A Player's Guide for Founders Making the Impossible Possible. At Lightbringer, Ola is one of the founders behind the shift to AI patent management.
 
"The End of Work as We Know It"
Every major economic shift, from farming to factories to computers, forced work to be reorganized around new tools. The AI revolution is no different, except it's moving faster. This talk looks at what's already playing out inside real companies today, where teams are holding steady or shrinking in size while output climbs several times over. The core argument: simply adding AI tools to old workflows only gets you so far. The bigger gains come from rebuilding how a company operates, so people spend less time on manual tasks and more time on the decisions and judgment calls that AI can't make on its own.

Emilie Lundbye Dalsgaard, Principal Data Scientist at ADC Consulting
DTU alumna, Emilie Lundbye Dalsgaard, works hands-on with applied AI and data science, helping organizations turn complex technology into practical, trusted solutions. Her current work focuses on agentic AI and legacy modernization, helping make critical systems easier to understand, maintain, and evolve as foundations for future data and AI use cases.
 
"Can AI Safely Rewrite the Code Nobody Dares to Touch?"
Many organizations rely on legacy systems nobody wants to touch. Old models, scripts, and workflows that still run important calculations and decisions, but that few people fully understand. Modernization is not just about rewriting code; it is about making hidden data flows and business logic visible, testable, and reusable in new applications, analytics, and AI. Drawing on practical experience with agentic AI for legacy modernization, Emilie will show how agents can uncover dependencies, translate code, validate outputs against the original system, and document what was previously hidden, while keeping humans in control of critical systems.
