Next Generation Water Action

Next Generation Water Action is an ambitious initiative that will engage young talents from leading universities and early stage start-ups. In collaboration with corporate and public partners, more than 100 students and entrepreneurs of early stage startups from Denmark, Mexico, India, Korea, Ghana and Kenya will build skills and apply their technical disciplines, innovation capacity and solutions to challenge and catalyze water solutions towards smart livable cities.
The collaborative innovation process starting February 2021 enables to involve university students through challenge based course work and start-ups with partners from industry, academia and public sector.

Together with our partners, we will bring forward a tailored program, bringing a youth track that goes way beyond “attendance of youth”. The initiative will, in two tailored tracks, involve Young Academics and Young Entrepreneurs that through virtual kick-offs, bootcamps, pitch training, mentoring and acceleration sessions receive support to accelerate technology-based solutions addressing water for smart livable cities. A virtual and multi-hub set-up enables the international young professionals to connect and co-create solutions with industry partners, mentors and other participants across the globe.

Next Generation Water Action aims to drive outcomes such as:
1. Unique learnings on ways to accelerate innovative solutions to concrete sustainability challenges in partnerships, including engaging formats for youth involvement into the Congress.

2. Solutions (from early research to start-ups) that will be brought forward to impact urban water challenges

3. An international community of 100 talented students and entrepreneurs with new skills and insights on how to adopt technical skills to accelerate smart urban water solutions in partnerships.
