Speaker Bio:
Tess Skadegård Thorsen, PhD, is a researcher, educator, and consultant specializing in the field of tech and media. With a background in ESG/CSR consulting, Tess has dedicated her career to building socially sustainable products and addressing issues of representativeness and bias in technology development. Tess was the recipient of the 2022 Kraka Award for Danish gender research. Her research has been published internationally, and she has lectured across the world (Columbia University, Pennsylvania State University, Copenhagen University, etc.). Tess also brings experience from her role as the Director of Product Ethics at Comcast NBC Universal and serves on the advisory board of the Danish Pioneer Centre for AI.
