Talk
Building AI-Powered Companion for Nurses
In this talk, Frederik will share how Teton is leveraging computer vision and deep learning to enhance patient care. Their AI-powered system provides nurses with real-time insights into ward activity, monitors sleep quality, prevents falls, and reduces response times when incidents occur. He'll walk you through how Teton trains and deploys their AI models across their device fleet, offering a glimpse into the technology driving these innovations. Additionally, he'll discuss some of the emerging AI trends that he is most excited about and how they could shape the future of healthcare.
Speaker
Frederik Warburg, Head of AI, Teton.ai
Frederik is Head of AI at Teton, where he works on building an AI care companion. Prior, he was a PhD student working on 3D reconstruction, metric learning, and uncertainty quantification at DTU. He was supervised by Søren Hauberg, Javier Civera and Serge Belongie. During his PhD, he visited Angjoo Kanazawa at UC Berkeley. He was rewarded an EliteForsk stipend for his contributions to the field.

From Wine to Wishes and from Research to Industry
Thoranna started by using multimodal learning to represent wine flavor similarities, combining human sensory annotations, images, and reviews. This was part of a research collaboration with Vivino, DTU, and the Pioneer Centre for AI. Now, as a data scientist at Todai, she has used that knowledge to combine product images and text, improving product representation for the e-commerce platform Ønskeskyen. This talk covers her journey from building a flavor space for wine to applying multimodal learning to real-world industry challenges.
Speaker
Thoranna Bender, Data Scientist, Today.ai
Thoranna has a background in Machine Learning and Software Engineering. In her career so far, she has published a paper at NeurIPS on multimodal wine flavor representations, applied AI to UI design at the tech startup Uizard (acquired by Miro) and worked as a data scientist and consultant for well-known Danish companies, applying AI across various sectors.
