DTU Proof of Concept Grants

During the present Corona crisis, The PoC Grant operates in a virtual mode. The normal deadlines and application procedures apply.
  • Primarily for technical and commercial maturation and de-risking towards a commercial application, e.g. development of prototypes, scalability demonstration, user testing etc.
  • 3 application rounds per year
  • 200,000-500,000 DKK (<12 months project period)
  • Support salary, materials, consultancy, reports/knowledge, market testing, marketing, travel, etc.
  • The applicant must demonstrate a positive expression of interest from commercial partners, customers or investors
  • The application must be endorsed and supported by the department and the DTU Skylab business developer

It is important that you have contacted your DTU Skylab business developer well in advance of the deadline regarding your Proof of Concept (PoC) Grant application. You can find your business developer under “Innovation Responsibles” on the right. Please note, that if you already have established a company, you will not be able to receive any of the enable programme’s grants.

Application and deadlines

There are three application rounds per year and each funding round consists of an info meeting, an application deadline, pitch training and a board meeting.

Here we will present the tips and tricks to a good PoC application, previous experiences and general information about the process. It is strongly recommended that you attend this meeting if you plan to apply for the DTU PoC grant. You can find the slide deck from the latest info meeting under Downloads to the right.

Application deadline

This is the last date to submit your application. It is imperative that you have been in dialogue with your DTU Skylab business developer well in advance of the deadline regarding your application and preferably attended the info meeting. The PoC board will pre-evaluate and rate the applications before the board meeting. The eight projects with the highest score will be called to pitch at the board meeting.

Pitch training

There will be pitch training for the eight selected projects usually one week before the board meeting. Participation for this pitch training is mandatory for applicants.

The PoC board meeting

For the eight selected projects, the applicants pitch their project before the board. A few days after the board meeting the applicants will be informed of the grant decisions.

A guide on how to apply, along with the form and other must-read documents are included in the PoC Grant Application bundle found on the right.

Please make sure to join the next info meeting for more details.
