Team: Fishent

Description: Fishent sets out to transform a conservative fish industry by providing a data driven quality assessment for fresh fish. Fresh fish traded and exported from Denmarks’ largest fishing ports are labelled using a manual quality inspection. This creates arguments between buyers and sellers, as quality sets price. Fishent offers reliable quality assessment and transparent pricing using sensors and machine learning. We have tested our sensor solution in Hirtshals (Møllers Fiskeexport).

Team: Enable

Description: Enable makes smart home devices accessible for people with disabilities. This is done using innovative eye tracking technology, which can run directly on a smartphone without the need of calibration or additional hardware. Simple gestures with the eyes can control different types of smart home devices. This way Enable provides a greater independency and freedom for motor disabled people through every day technology.

Team: CAICU

Description: CAICU is a communication aid designed for patients connected to mechanical ventilators at intensive care units. Most of these patients are unable to speak and express basic feelings and needs. Existing communication aids are either too complicated or tiring for the patients. CAICU solves this problem by offering a simple to use application with specialized symbols and sentences controlled by the use of head tracking. Both Rigshospitalet and Bispebjerg Hospital has shown interest in implementing CAICU.

Team: Bysædet

Description: "Bysædet" is a seat that will be mounted on lamp posts in the city. This will help people that have trouble walking and will enable them to have a rest when there is no bench available. It is a modern, flexible solution that is supposed make cities like Copenhagen more accessible.

Description: Many makers believe that 3D-printing is the future, and we at øko-print think the same! We are working on a simple attachment for any kind of FDM 3D-printer that will allow the printers to print with clay, ceramics or even buttercream for decorating your cupcakes! This makes the printing experience so much more fun and it opens doors to infinite possibilities

Team: Place It

Description: Place It develops an infrastructure, which helps people to share things among each other. In cooperation with a provider of smart lock solutions, we develop a digital key distribution system (mobile application), which allows public and private institutions to “upgrade” their existing locker system and transform it into a sharing platform. In this way, we enable e.g. universities to use existing spaces to foster collaboration, resource efficiency and social interaction among students.

Team: PurePond

Description: Purepond presents a simple, yet novel technology for drinking water treatment in rural areas. The technology builds on the concept of slow sand filtration and three alterations in the traditional sand filter design make this filter self-maintaining. Self-maintenance is a crucial feature, since neglect of maintenance cause most traditional filters to fall into disuse. An existing prototype and an article published in MDPI's Water provide proof of concept.

Description: Music unites people in so many ways. Why not let people unify their music? Our speaker is based on the concept that every individual can contribute with their own speaker when arriving at a party and other arrangements. The idea is to improve the social and sound experience for everyone. All you have to do is bring your speaker and connect it to another and instantly they start playing together.

Description: We aim to develop a new way of measuring the height of elevation desks. This will enable our after market product Shifty to out-perform the offerings of elevation desk giants such as Linak and Herman Miller. If we succeed with this development project, our product will work with all elevation desks in the world, and therefore go-to-market with great ease compared to our competitors.

Team: TREBO ENGINEERING

Description: The demand for plastic is increasing, but so is the demand for reducing plastic waste. TREBO Engineering aims to convert polymer waste from the industry into high value recyclable fractions. We have developed a method to separate materials with different densities, turning an unrecyclable mixture of polymers into pure valuable fractions ready to be used in new products. A similar method is not currently seen on the market. A proof-of-concept machine has been build and tested with promising results.

Description: We are a team currently designing a single seater fully electric racing car to comply with the Formula Student Electric regulations. The aim is to compete and score a point in each event at the Formula Student Electric competition in Silverstone, England in July 2018. In the process we hope to improve our knowledge of electric cars and get a better understanding of how we best work together as a complete team with the aim of designing, building and racing our own formula style racing car.

Team: Sentar
Description: Sentar is taking one of the most common and growing problems right now - lower back and neck pain. Caused by sitting down too much in front of a desk, looking at a screen, tablet or laptop. With a team of two design engineers, a business strategist and a human physiologist Sentar is creating a bot, which measures and changes the employee’s behaviour in large companies. 3 versions of this ‘Sentar bot’ has been tested with Novo Nordisk, Tryg, DTU and Coloplast with promising results.

Description: StepUp Air is a new generation of fitness trackers, telling sportspeople when the body has reached its limits, and helping to push them further. It not only increases the training efficiency, but also reduces the risk of injuries. This prowess is possible with the help of a new sensor technology, giving access to accurate measurement of breathing, on top of other parameters.
